The Problem
There are so many cybersecurity risks facing businesses today. There’s the risk of getting ransomware. There’s the risk of having your email account, or a staff’s email account, getting hacked. The company website could go down. We’ve even seen issues with wire fraud due to a security breach.
These are some of the most common issues we see, and for businesses, the impact can range anywhere from an inconvenience to a complete devastation of the function of the business.
The Solution
The solution is to have a three-part Technology Strategy: technology, security and productivity. We talked about Part One: Technology in a recent blog post. Today we’re going to talk about Part Two: Security.
So as we mentioned above, with security the risks are huge. And with so many people working differently these days due to COVID, these risks have only become amplified. And if you don’t have a security roadmap, and if you’re not being proactive about your security, it’s not about IF but WHEN you’ll get hacked.
Small businesses are easy targets for hackers, and if we’re not doing enough to secure our business, the risks increase.
Your roadmap needs to outline how you’re adapting to these threats. You need to be continually improving your security, including: securing passwords, securing cloud applications, securing data, guarding against ransomware, checking for Microsoft 365 breaches, managing the access to data from within Microsoft 365.
